Saja

Created by Aaron Bell

Named after the Korean word for Lion, Saja is an upright, contemporary serif typeface designed especially for long-form, multi-script typesetting of Latin and Korean. Aimed at magazine usage, Saja walks the line between quiet and quirky, bringing a refreshing air to the page.

Saja includes a regular and book text as well as paired bolds for each. As Korean tends to be set at a lighter weight than Latin, this innovative design allows comfortable text setting for both scripts. Furthermore, Saja introduces a new paradigm to the field of Korean typography—the true italic. No more will Korean typographers be forced to mechanically slant text for emphasis, but can use a brand new style that is still just as easy to read.
